Roguelike RTS?

So, I had this idea...what if we did a roguelike RTS? Stay with me now, stay with me. So the idea is as you capture more of the map, new unit types become available to you. In addition, as you get more kills, you're able to level up your units. I went ahead and tried it out and...I think it's pretty fun! Here's a quick screenshot:


I'm not really sure if this is a better direction to take the game in or if I should stick with what I had originally. If you've got some time, head on over to the builds page and let me know what you think!
